Social Equity and EdTech: Why Free Tiers Matter
If a tool only works for families who can afford it, it widens inequality. Here's how we're keeping Max Claw accessible.
South Africa has one of the highest income inequality scores in the world. Education technology that costs R500/month effectively excludes the majority of families.
That's why Max Claw will always have a meaningful free tier — not a stripped-down trial, but a genuinely useful AI tutor that any child can use. We subsidise this with our paid plans and partnerships with schools and NGOs.
We're also building offline-sync so learners with intermittent connectivity (rural areas, load shedding) can keep working. The lesson syncs back when the connection returns.
Equity isn't a marketing line for us — it's the reason Max Claw exists.
