Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026 · Aligned with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013.

Who we are

MaxClawEdu ("we", "us") is operated from South Africa as part of ProAgriSA. We provide a child-safe AI tutoring service for Grade R–12 learners across CAPS, IEB and IMPAQ.

For privacy questions, email max-claw@proagrisa.co.za.

What we collect

From the parent: name, email, WhatsApp number, billing details, and the curriculum/grade of the child.

From the learner: only the chat content needed to deliver tutoring. We never request a child's full name, ID, school, address, photo or biometric data.

Automatically: standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

To deliver tutoring, generate parent reports, send opt-in updates, process payments, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not use minors' chats to train third-party models.

Special protections for minors

Under POPIA section 35, processing the personal information of children requires consent from a competent person. The parent or legal guardian who created the account is the data controller for the child and may at any time:

  • Review every chat the child has had.
  • Delete the child's account and all associated data within 30 days.
  • Withdraw consent for further processing.
Where data lives

Personal information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Some processors may sit outside South Africa. We use only providers with adequate data-protection commitments, as permitted by POPIA section 72.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session security. We do not run advertising trackers or build behavioural profiles of children.

Updates to this policy

We will notify account holders of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Read more about how we keep learners safe on our safety page.
